We recently photographed the newly renovated LOWCOUNTRY REGIONAL AIRPORT in WALTERBORO for WATSON TATE SAVORY. We considered the obvious choice of using an airplane to illustrate the use of the building.
We love using things we find at the different sites we work in to show the real activity. There was very little air traffic on the day we worked there . It is easy enough to add an a stock airplane but we wanted it to be original. We were finally rewarded with the original “airplane”…. a bird ! The thing that inspired flight.
The airport is a great example the Low Country vernacular. Deep porches with sun cover, rocking chairs and beautiful natural wood doors . Floor treatments of red brick and concrete “tabby” use local natural materials.
Good Design does not cost … it pays …………………. seeing the before and after photographs of this facility is inspiring.
